As part of the ongoing Clontarf to City Centre Scheme roadworks are proposed for North Strand Road with a STOP/GO installation in place between Shamrock Terrace and Bessborough Avenue, from Friday night 26th April to Sunday evening 28th April. The installation also includes for a Road Closure on Ossory Road at the North Strand Road junction.


Location – North Strand Road (Shamrock Terrace to Bessborough Ave);

  • Dates; Friday 26th April 20:00 right through until Sunday 28th April at 18:00
  • Working Hours;
  • Friday night 20:00 until Saturday evening at 18:00
  • Sunday 08:00 until 18:00
  • STOP / Go installation on North Strand Road over Newcomen Bridge between Shamrock Terrace and Bessborough 
  • The installation also includes for a road closure of Ossory Road
  • Works Description; The traffic management installation (as attached) is necessary to facilitate full-depth road construction. These works require the excavation of the existing road to a depth greater than 0.5m to enable the replacement of the existing road foundation and bituminous layers. Completion of these works shall open additional work areas. At Ossory Road junction, a road crossing is required for a new Uisce Éireann pipeline. Ossory Road is to be closed at the North Strand Road junction for the weekend to facilitate these pipeline works.
  • Night-working is proposed for Friday night


These traffic management installations and proposed works are necessary to facilitate road construction works along North Stand Road and a pipeline road crossing at Ossory Rd junction.

To help ensure the works can be carried out, while keeping the overall disruption to a minimum, night working is required. The Contractor will endeavour to keep noise levels as low as possible, but some disruption is inevitable.
